About HERpothesis

HERpothesis is a zine create by and for young women fascinated by the realm of STEM— science, technology, engineering, and mathematics— expressing that passion through art and creative writing.

HERpothesis was started by Alex Hanson, a sophomore at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Through her studies at NYU, she realized that her love for writing and media and her budding interest in physics aren't mutually exclusive— they can be combined in a way that presents science as creative and engaging. With this goal in mind, she enlisted friends from across the United States, Canada, and the UK to contribute their art and writing expressing their own interests in STEM. The result is a zine that is filled with comics, sketches, and essays pondering the way STEM enters and enriches our lives— as women, as young people, and as artists.

Now, HERpothesis is a website at HERpothesis.com. Find HERpothesis on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
